Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson comes from a musically inclined family. She grew up listening mostly to classical music, old boleros, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is passionate about opera and tangos, as well as any dramatic performance. She began singing and learning music with her mother, then began more intense vocal training when she was 16 working with the famous Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. She continued her musical training in the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. While a young student and professional, she performed with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choirs in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. In 2000 she moved to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007, she settled in her home in southern California. She performs solo Latin American music for private events and also as part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Ana is involved in a variety of local initiatives in both teaching and performer because of her passion of music and art. Ana was a member of both the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently a teacher at the Performance Loft. Ana hopes, by sharing her knowledge of Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly for the young generation to keep this tradition in the present.
